The Process for Old Photos

The first step is creating a high-quality digital version of the old photo. If you have already digitised it — scanned it at high resolution, or photographed it clearly with a steady hand and good light — send us that file and we assess the quality.

If the digitised version is lower quality, we work with what you have and produce the best result possible at an appropriate size. Sometimes a 40×30cm or 50×35cm print is more appropriate than a large enlargement for a low-resolution source.

Enhancement
